not sure if that was sarcasm...but they did say that the amount of space gw is taking up on their servers is quite small--so as long as gw2 is up and about so will gw. (would have to do a search to find the quote...I'm sure someone else will .......perhaps....)

so no worries for sometime since they are still putting out expansions for gw2 and its still making money in the gem store and whatnot.

they said GW is easy and cheap to keep up, and it still brings money in, as the ingame.... outgame store is used, and i see many new people join GW, i helped another a week or so ago (buying him his max armor and before that i taxi-ed him to both consulate docks and lions arch.... and then from LA to kaineng center, walking him even to shing jea island (all for free, of course)

i even sent a friend of mine (in GW) a PM, asking if the guild he's in helps a lot, and it does, so i let the new one join that one
*i'm in a dead guild with 2 GW friends (3, but 1 is gone for a long time)*

and it happens a lot that i see newbies joining the game, not just this once

so yeah, GW is safe
new accounts and store stuff = money, and the game is (as said) cheap and easy to keep online
GW2 is also going well as i've heard, not so much for many GW players, but for others it goes well, plus people will buy ingame store items a lot, like in many other MMORPG's

anet wont lose too much money if they do, so i doubt the end of either games is in sight

EDIT: sorry, i have the link to where they said it on my pc, but that cannot use the internet atm
i'll add it when i find it (going to gwwiki right now)
